Procedure

The Rinspiration® Procedure

During Rinspiration, the physician inserts the catheter through a small puncture site in the leg. The catheter is then advanced proximal to the target site, where it rinses the vessel and removes soft thrombi and debris.

The Rinspirator is an important adjunct to interventional treatment devices, such as balloon angioplasty, stents and the SilverHawk® Plaque Excision System.

The Rinspirator is a complete solution:

  • Clearing thrombi out to the vessel walls
  • Delivering physician-specified solutions to the treatment site
  • Serving as a valuable adjunct to interventional treatments to minimize symptoms
  • Helping to reduce the potential risk of future thromboembolic episodes
  • Providing the only concurrent rinsing and aspirating solution for promoting coronary and peripheral reperfusion
  • Offering easy set-up and ease of use
  • Keeping the procedural control in the hands of the physician
  • Allowing you to do more than simple aspiration

How Rinspiration Works

rinspirator_1Step 1. The catheter is inserted into the body and advanced proximal to the treatment site.
rinspirator_2Step 2. With each squeeze of the Rinspirator handle,
physician-specified fluids rinse the vessel walls while simultaneously aspirating thrombi and debris from the tip of the catheter.
rinspirator_3Step 3. After a few squeezes, slowly advance the catheter, proximal to distal, through the affected area, stopping and squeezing the device until the vessel is cleared.
