Rinspirator® Technology

The Rinspirator consists of a hand-held device, tubing connecting the handle to the IV spike and waste bag, as well as a dual-lumen catheter.

Dual-Action Rinsing and Aspiration

Each squeeze of the hand-held unit simultaneously activates the infusion and aspiration syringes, rinsing the vessel out to the vessel wall and aspirating thrombi, emboli and debris at the same time.

As the operator squeezes the device, the infusion syringe pushes physician-specified fluid into the catheter and out through the infusion holes at the tip of the catheter, rinsing the vessel. At the same time, the aspiration syringe fills with the aspirated fluids.

When the operator releases the Rinspirator handle, the infusion syringe re-fills with the physician-specified fluid, connected to the device through either the infusion line and saline bag, or through the stopcock infusion port, while the aspiration syringe is emptied into the attached waste bag.

Gentle Vascular Lavage

The Rinspirator works on high volume / low pressure principle, allowing for maximum rinsing power without causing trauma to the interior of the vessel. By gently washing away the debris from the vessel walls, the physician can ensure optimal clearing of the vessel, visualization of the lesion site and reduce the risk for future occlusions.
